RAL Codes - Color Chart

RAL is a European color matching system that defines the colors for dye, coating and plastics. RAL color standard is administered by RAL Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung. ‘RAL’ stands for ‘R eichs- A usschuß für L ieferbedingungen und Gütesicherung’ (National Committee for Delivery Terms and Quality Assurance).

Classic RAL color chart was composed of 40 colors in 1927 and today, the number of colors in the chart has reached to 213 with a revision made in 1961. Classic RAL color codes defined with 4-digit numbers are written after the word RAL. For example; RAL 5010, RAL 9002, RAL 3004.

RAL color codes are frequently used in various industries such as construction, architecture, automotive and road safety to describe the colors.
