Nasıl Bir Ekonomi: ''Teknopanel opens its 5th factory in North Macedonia''

Exporting sandwich panel and EPS products to 102 countries on 5 continents, Teknopanel will operationalize its 5th factory in 2023, the construction of which continues in rapid succession.

As one of the leading brands in the construction materials industry with its 4 facilities operating in Turkey, Teknopanel is putting its first overseas facility into operation in Skopje, the capital city of North Macedonia. Aiming to complete the construction of the facility with a 55 thousand square meters area in total including a closed area of 16 thousand square meters in 2023, the company will maximize its share in the Balkans and Europe market. Orhan Kahveci, the General Manager of Teknopanel, stated that the investment in Skopje will be their first overseas facility. Kahveci said that they will manufacture 3 million square meters sandwich panel and 350 thousand cubic meters EPS products annually, continuing: "Our annual turnover goal is 35 million Euro through sales and marketing activities for all of the Europe and Balkan countries. We plan to generate 80 percent of this turnover from exports." We are ready to work with a new team of minimum 120 people. As a company that exports to 102 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and North and South America in the world market today, we will become a well-known brand in the European market by enhancing our operations in the North Macedonian industry."

Skopje will be the production hub of sandwich panel and EPS products

Stating that Teknopanel is among the leading companies in Europe with is 480 employees, Orhan Kahveci said, "The sandwich panel and EPS product export is expected to amount to 170.5 Euro in Europe within the next 9 years. Following the operationalization of our project, we will contribute to the country economy by offering additional labor force through 120 employment opportunities that we will create with a sales, marketing, and production vision, and business partnerships to be formed with suppliers. We will promote the recognition of North Macedonia in the industrial market of Europe, thus, will support Turkish investors to become demanded and sought-after solution partners in the region."

We know that we should create innovative solutions as a brand

Stating that Teknopanel has enhanced its existing product portfolio and accelerated the studies on sustainable value-added products through the R&D center founded at Mersin production facility in 2017, Orhan Kahveci said, "The fact that we deploy our production facilities at strategic locations and have a sense of flexible production helps us to understand the needs of our customers and meet their demands quickly. Our power in R&D regarding this field ensures us to manufacture products best fit for the needs of our overseas markets." Stating that they produce solar energy using 6 thousand 460 solar panel on the 12 thousand square meter roof area of the facility in Mersin, Kahveci said, "We generate electricity around 2.4 megawatt annually through our installed capacity of 1.6 megawatt. We reach a more competitive position by balancing our energy costs. Thanks to our solar energy power plant, we prevent 1 million tons of carbon emission and 40 thousand trees to be cut down annually so that we contribute more to the goal of creating a more viable environment. We also plan to install solar energy power plants at our other factories in the next process."
